Hairdressing

I started in the Hair & Beauty industry in 2005, I immersed myself into the entire industry completing multiple Beautician certificates at a private beauty college as well as my trade certificate in Hairdressing in Bunbury, Western Australia.

From there I completed multiple courses for advanced colouring and cutting techniques, hair up styling and hair extension application.

For a number of years I worked for myself as a solo hair and make up artist servicing the great southern for weddings and special occasions.

After many years in busy salons took it’s toll on my wrists and living with my hair done everyday and full face of make up, I craved a change and to live the true country life.

Today I wear little to no make up, I am very conscious about balance in my life, the products that I use and the food I consume, needless to say I am a much healthier and happier person.

What I love about the hair and beauty industry is the people who allow me into their lives, first as a professional and then as a friend, I love to help people see their own unique beauty and show them how easy it can be to have a style or routine that fits with the time/effort that they want to put in daily.

I love making people feel great and being there to celebrate life achievements or to offer a shoulder in the tough times.

I always struggled in larger retail salons where the staff are pushed to sell, sell, sell products and to constantly up-sell services. I just can’t talk about or sell products that I don’t believe in or that I believe to be harmful; and I know all to well what it’s like living on a budget, if you don’t need it you don’t need it!

I also struggled with the harsh chemicals and even left the industry for a healthier lifestyle.

It is the people I missed and moving to Boyup Brook and being part of such a special community I knew this was the time to get back to my roots but this time in my own way.

I have now poured all of my core values, heart and soul into creating a vision for the future, something that I think is going to be very special.

I want to be on the forefront of cleaning up the Hair & Beauty Industry to make it healthier, safer and less damaging to people and the environment. I had boxes that needed to be ticked for me to re-enter the industry.

I enjoy helping people, making them feel good about themselves and showing them that they are important and valued, I enjoy the honest conversations that can be had when you develop real connections with people instead of being rushed in traditional salons.

I love showing people that they can try new things and giving them my honest opinion on new style idea’s, I love the feeling of earning peoples trust; with such a delicate and important aspect of exterior personality.

I am a very practical person and that carries through into my work as a hairdresser. You can almost make anything work or look great in the salon with all the styling tools and tricks but I am committed to low fuss styling so that you walk out of the salon with the tools to recreate your style yourself at home.

I like to develop a relationship with my clients so that we can work together to achieve what they want, I like my customers to let me know how their hair is going, how it’s sitting at home, how the colour washes up. Using my clients feedback I am able to get a deeper understanding of their hair and their needs and make adjustments to allow for such things. By having a good relationship with your hairdresser it opens up for easy conversation so that you can get the hair you want and a maintenance program that works and saves you money.

I love to incorporate the use of Showpony Hair Extensions to give people a fast change of style without having to damage their hair with colour or wait for their hair to grow to have a change.

I am extremely passionate about natural products, I like things to be as natural and healthy as possible not only for my family and friends and for myself but for my clients too.

In 2023 I decided to cut out all harmful foods and products from my life and our home and I have never felt better, I honestly believe that the food we eat and the products we use daily are harming us so much more than we realise.

My immune system has strengthened, my overall health and wellbeing has improved along with clearer skin and healthier hair!

Hair extensions aren’t just for long hair, sure they can add length but they can also add extra volume or style to your existing length, fill in gaps and create colour changes without having to expose your hair to harsh colouring.

I have a range of different options available from clip in and halo hair to permanent mini micro bead and skin weft tape extensions.

Hair extensions are also a great option for brides and special occasions to give your look that extra wow factor. You can buy your own or hire clip in or halo pieces for your special event.

Weddings

As a hairdresser weddings are such an honor to be a part of, to be invited into someone’s special day and be trusted to create their vision is a feeling like no other.

My brides are of upmost importance to me as it is my responsibility to help them bring their dreams to life with their own individual style.

I offer a free in salon bridal consultation to chat through style ideas, get an understanding of your vision and go through in detail for options and pricing.

A $200 deposit is required to secure your booking for your wedding date. This deposit comes off the total price at the end.

It is recommended to have a trail before the wedding to style your hair and see how your chosen style comes together in your own hair. You may wish to bring your bridesmaid to trail a style too as that can be a really fun experience together.

I am available on the day for blowdrys and styling for the mother of the bride/groom and also flower girl hair.

I am available in salon or on location. I do not charge travel within 30kms however after 30kms travel charges do apply.

I also offer my brides the option of Showpony clip in hair extensions. This is not a requirement just an additional service that some brides love to use to give them extra hair to really bring their wedding hair goals to life. You can buy your own and keep them or you can hire a set for your wedding day.
